The 2017 members exhibition preparations are now underway and we are inviting all members on our mailing list and in our Facebook group to submit work for consideration by our judging curating panel. An opportunity to get your work printed, framed and hanging with your fellow PhotoBath friends.
As last year, the venue will be 44AD Artspace, 4 Abbey St. Bath. BA1 1NN
The fee for submissions will depend on the number of contributors but we expect it to be around £20 per exhibited print (maximum 2 prints for each contributor) for annual PhotoBath subscription members, (PhotoBath annual subscription – £30) and £30 per print for non annual subscribers.
To keep the standard high, each contributor is invited to submit three images to the curating panel who will decide on one for exhibiting – if you want to have two images in the exhibition you will be required to submit six images for the selection process.
Besides, selecting the images for the exhibition itself, the panel is also tasked in choosing which image should be used to promote the show and will be reproduced on posters, flyers and online. The photographer is fully credited on all marketing material. Part of the terms and conditions for submissions is that if your image is selected, you allow PhotoBath to use it for promotion without cost.
If you are local to Bath and have some relevant experience in exhibiting, curating, photography publishing or teaching photography, and would like to be considered for inclusion in the judging meetings, please contact us – there may be drinks!
Last year the theme was ‘Storylines’ – not only a direction for the photographers to consider but an identity for the promotion and marketing that tweaked the curiosity of the public and photography community. Like last year the theme was suggested by the group and then voted on by members. It worked, so we’re doing it again. All submitting contributors are encouraged to provide ideas for the theme of this 2017 show. The final decision will be decided on by majority vote and relayed to all members.
So as well as putting your name forward to take part in exhibiting, suggest some interesting themes which you’d like PhotoBath members to consider and you may find that you’ve come up with the winning idea.
In 2016, over 500 people visited the show and prints were bought. The show will include a private view for all invited visitors.
