PhotoBath was conceived in 2014 with the coming together of a group of like-minded photographers in the Bear Flat area of Bath looking to establish opportunities to promote their own work and explore the potential to develop and plan major photographic events which were not available locally.

Their circle of friends and network contacts soon made them aware that there was significant possibilities and potential that could be tapped to make the realisation of these type of projects a strong possibility.

From 2014 to 2020 Photobath has put on four member base exhibitions:

To date we have also created two Primary exhibitions with a third in progress for 2022:

  • studio31/Salgado – An exhibition of 8 platinum prints of the work by Sebastiao Salgado created by Max Caffell at 31 Studio.
  • Carlo Chinca – A retrospective exhibition of Carlo Chinca’s documentary photographs

As part of our Photography journey during 2014-2020, Photobath also publish four books showcasing the photography of its membership:

PHOTOBATH is currently being relaunched in 2021, with a renewed commitment to promote the best documentary and fine art practise. Formal membership has been discontinued and participation in ongoing projects will be by invitation, involving photographers producing interesting and stimulating work, who are committed to contributing to our aims, objectives and ethos.
